Your expert for frictional connections

TAS SCHÄFER GmbH is a leading supplier of high-precision frictional connections and coupling systems for industrial applications. With decades of experience and technological expertise, the company develops customised solutions for various industries, including wind energy, mechanical engineering and heavy industry.

A reliable connection

Our hydraulic shrink discs, specially designed for transmission test stands, are precisely designed and manufactured to customer specifications. With years of expertise and as a world market leader in this field, we equip test stands worldwide with our products. Our hydraulic shrink discs offer numerous advantages and ensure reliable and efficient performance of your transmission test stands.

The introduction of the bayonet ring to our hydraulic shrink discs was a further step in making our products even more user-friendly and efficient. By combining proven shrink disc technology with a modern bayonet lock, we offer a solution that meets the requirements of modern transmission test stands.

Advantages of our hydraulic shrink discs

Application-specific design

Each shrink disc is individually adapted to the specific requirements of your transmission test stand.

Relatively low pressure

The use of hydraulic shrink discs requires lower pressure compared to conventional mechanical solutions.

Fast clamping and releasing

Compared to mechanical shrink discs, our hydraulic solutions enable faster clamping and releasing.

Mechanically releasable

Even without hydraulics, the shrink discs can be clamped and released mechanically.

Customer maintenance and repair

Our shrink discs are designed so that maintenance and repair can be easily carried out by the customer.

Backlash-free connection

The shrink discs provide a backlash-free connection that can transmit high torques.

Easy to release

Compared to conventional shrink connections, our hydraulic shrink discs are easier to release.

Not sensitive to impact

The design is robust and resistant to shocks.

No additional axial fastening required

Our hydraulic shrink discs do not require any additional axial fastening.

No loosening of the connection

Even with changing and fluctuating loads, the connection remains reliable and secure.

Frequently asked questions

The biggest advantage of a hydraulic shrink disc compared to a mechanical shrink disc is the enormous time saving during assembly and disassembly. Up to 95% of assembly time can be saved with a hydraulic shrink disc. When using a hydraulic shrink disc with a bayonet ring, handling is simplified even further. When using a hydraulic shrink disc with a bayonet ring, handling is simplified even further. The bayonet system allows the operator to quickly lock and unlock the shrink disc without the need for additional tools.

The selection of the right shrink disc depends on various factors:

Torque: The torque to be transmitted is one of the most important factors.

Shaft and hub diameters: The shrink disc must match the diameters of the shaft and hub.

Environmental conditions: Temperature, humidity and other environmental conditions must be taken into account.

Materials and coatings: Depending on the application, certain materials or surface coatings may be required.

With regular maintenance and proper use, the hydraulic shrink disc can be used for clamping several hundred times without any problems.
